shown below is the image of the boardgame mouse trap. as it is now too late to simply ask the game manifacturer if it would be ok to use their game in my music video. So i have simply decided that it would be easyer to simply use the structure of the board but

 

Rihanna - We Found Love

Above is the video for Rihanna's 'we found love'. I have chosen to put this video amongst my reaserch because of the up-beat fast pace which it possesses. The video not only has allot of short edited pieces of video footage but it also has allot of different shots and artistic things within the film.


I think that one of the main reasons as to why the video is so successfull is because of its individuality and the effort and planning that has been put into it, for example the simple story line of boy and girl and how they fell in love. The story then unravels to reveal how their love became tainted and how both members of the relationship fell appart without the other being their. The song simply says 'we found love in a hopeless place' meaning that the place in which they found love was destened for failure before it even begun.


The video shows a whirl-wind romance between the pair and also contains allot of riskay scenes. For example the famail in the video is shown allot of the time in skimpy/ revealing clothing or seductive underware. These suggesting the sexual relationship between the two would have been a big part in the relationship. Their are also allot of different techniques used within the 4.36 minute long film. Such as when the relationship takes a turn for the worse the use of editing is used greatly within the video. theie are things such as footage of a storm being used , which can connote trouble and danger ahead , not only for the pairs well-being but also for their relationsip. This image is then projected onto a blank wall where the femail in the video is standing. This is simple too do and also shows the viewer what the actors in the video are going through.


Their are also scenes within the short film of the pair having fun and enjoying eachothers company. This in turn shows the viewers that the relationship has had its up times along with its downs. As the video goes on we see that the couples relationship was simply based around how much fun they were having with eachother and spending time together but when it came to things more serious such as living together and communicating the pair struggled to be as successfull in their relationsip.


Halfway through the video their are a number of different pills shown and also an extreme closeup shot of a pupil dilating. From this point on the preogative of the video is changed and becomes allot more scinister, their are scenes shown which could connote rough or harmfull sex and also scenes where their is a lot of alcohol and partying shown . their are then scenes of the pair waisting and squandering money on things such as fruit machines and partys.


The Video uses a range of different shots for example extreme close up's, close up's , long distance shots and a range of different camera angles mean that you are sonstantly interested in the things which are going on within the video at all times.

Reaserch

I have just had a look at my blog and realised that theirs is a substantial amount of reaserch missing. So today seeing as though i am off ill i am going to try and get as much reaserch as physically possible done !

Board Game

over the weekend i am going to create a board game which i can use in my video. i have produces story bords and i simply need to scan them in and put them on my blog.


i have decided to use the song romance by the castells. i have chosen this song as i can do allot of different things with the video. it also means that their are allot of options for the video and what i can focus it around. for example i have allot of ideas about the video being based around a relationship of a couple and how there are different things within a relationship which effect couples and this means that i was

Rough Draft - Ideas For Final Video

This video is simply a rough draft which i have produced in my free time. I produced this video with a few of my friends. I decided to ask them to dress in a specific way as this would be beneficial to the way in which the video looked. I asked all of the boys in the video to dress smartly and individually and this would then make them stand out as individuals – allot like the members of the band. I would have asked the boys who are in the band to help me with the shooting of the video however they have been touring in Germany and were not available at the time which I produced the rough cut video. I am aware that there are not allot of camera angles within the video and that the clip itself is very short however this is not a problem as it is only a draft.

I like the way the video looks and the way in which it shows the band in different lights – or the people who are in the video. The video also suits the music well which I wasn’t sure whether it would or not. I enjoyed making the video and filming all of the different angles of the shots. I think that this may be the rout I take when I am producing my music video. Simply so that the video stands out and looks original. I wanted to create something different and I think that this will be done by producing this style of music video.

I will obviously have to include certain things into the video for example different shots – high and low angle –360°shots. These will all be included in my final video but however are not included in the draft video. This is simply because I wanted to take a range of different shots and photographs and put them together in a video so that I could see if it was effective or not with the type of upbeat genre that I am working with. I also needed to test if the videos and ideas which I had would work with the music. I got my inspiration from such music videos as ‘the cab – bad’ which is simply a video made up of allot of small shots and photographs.

The video which I am hoping to produce will have a lot of influence from the video and will work well with the music which I have chosen to do. I am aware that it will take allot of time filming and will also take allot of time to edit but I think that with hard work and determination I will be able to produce a well thought out and planned video to go with my music.

I want the video to represent the band and their individuality. There are allot of different types of music video’s out their but I would like to produce something slightly quirky and individual rather than just something mainstream, as the band themselves are not a mainstream band and do not produce mainstream music this will mean that their appearance and appeal will shine through in the video and this will make it more appealing to their fans and to the type of music which they are producing.

I am unsure of weather I am going to produce the music video in bright colours or edited black and white images. I will try out different techniques at this stage and see which one of the two would be more effective for the genre I am choosing to produce a music video for.

I do not think that I will use the original band within my video as it will create allot of problems and will be very time consuming. So I am going to out of that option and try and use some friends to be in my music video I have not yet decided if these will be all male or whether or not I will include females into the video. I am going to try and shoot at some point over the holidays so that I have allot more time for editing when I get back to school as I will not have time to edit at home over the holidays and do not have the correct resources to edit my work at home. This means that any spare time I have inside of school I will spend on my blog or editing my video to ensure that it is at the highest possible standard that it could be.



Video Ideas!

I have been looking at different video's in depth, however by an accident i stumbled across this video the other day, all though the music is not the same genre as the band which i am producing a music video for, i still believe that the video itself and the ideas behind it will work well with the music i have chosen.
